Strategic Mine Planning Under Grade Uncertainty

Minemax News

Robust mine planning considers uncertainty of all key inputs of the mine planning process. While sensitivity analysis in current mine planning practice addresses some of these inputs such as commodity price and costs, grade uncertainty is not yet an integral part of the process.

At Minemax, we are continually researching new value-adding techniques for effective mine planning. Over the past year, a new and exciting area where we have been working is grade uncertainty. We would like to share with you the path we have travelled so far in this area and invite you to continue the journey with us.

At Orebody Modelling and Strategic Mine Planning SMP 2014 this month, we will be previewing prototype functionality for strategic planning with grade uncertainty in our easy-to-use Minemax Planner solution for rapid project evaluation. If you are attending this event, please drop by our booth to see how we work with 100 conditionally simulated models to understand the impact of grade uncertainty on major KPIs like NPV, ore tonnes and metal.

If you are not able to attend SMP 2014, we can arrange a personalized face-to-face or web demonstration after the event. To schedule a demonstration, please contact us.
