This helps you to visualize things through the 3-D viewing capabilities and it also lets you automatically create activities to be scheduled from the strings. You can set precedence relationships between activities and optionally create equipment resources and assign them to activities. Activity durations can automatically be determined from equipment rates. After setting up items to report on such as tonnes, metres, grade, and various costs you are ready to schedule. You have three choices for how you schedule. You can manually schedule by setting the start time of individual activities. This will automatically reschedule related activities and update your onscreen reporting. Alternatively you can use a resource scheduler that ensures equipment capacities are not exceeded. Finally you can schedule automatically with the optimization module where scheduling is driven by mining and production constraints you have defined. The choice is up to you.
